Feldenkrais Australia October 2018 Journal
The Feldenkrais Australia Journal created in October of 2018 is the second of many journals designed for the Australia Feldenkrais Guild.
The process of creating this Feldenkrais Australia October 2018 Journal started with articles and images supplied by the organisations representative. I took this information and translated it into a suitable template which reflected the guilds standards. Subsequent editions of the Feldenkrais Australia Journal were able to use the template as a guide.
Within the template itself, I supplied a complimentary choice of typography and layout. These design choices needed to take into account the target market of the Journal. As it would be read by people of all ages and walks of life, it needed to be legible yet appealing to the eye.
As the Journal contained many long articles, I interspersed the articles with photos and imagery. These were either supplied by the representative or created in-house. In addition to the layout, several levels of style hierarchy were used in the articles to make the information easy to take in. Furthermore, we gave the layout plenty of clean white space which made it easy to read.
Most importantly, I used the guilds colour scheme to further tie the brand into the Journal. For example, teal from the logo was used to amplify sections in the Journal. Similarly, the teal loops from the logo can be seen as a watermark on several pages.
About the Guild
Established in 1987, The Australian Feldenkrais Guild Inc (AFG) is a non-profit membership organisation established to promote and advance the Feldenkrais Method® in Australia, to verify and maintain training standards, and to represent its members in liaison with Feldenkrais Guilds throughout the world.
